Inktober 17 – Day 22

Clingman’s Dome in the Smoky Mountains. I know I’m missing lots of foreground trees on this one. I tried a bunch of variations, but decided to leave them off since I didn’t like how any of them looked. I was going to go for more texture in the tower/ramp, but ran out of time. The mountains didn’t work out quite as well in this full size sketch compared to my thumbnail test, but I’m ok with it. I almost sketched an AT logo and called it done, but I’m glad I tried something a little more involved even if it’s not all that great.

Today’s Prompt: trail

Inktober 17 – Day 21

No Disassemble! I loved Johnny Five as a kid, so I thought it’d be fun to draw him angry. I need to learn to use the Copics better, but this one was fun. I really love the multiliners including the brush versions. I tried to do almost all of this one with the small brush one. I did use the medium brush for the eye flat things – it worked so much better for getting a solid black compared to the brush pen I used last night.

Today’s Prompt: fierce

Inktober 17 – Day 20

I wanted to try something different tonight so I used the brush pen for the background and the gel pen for the foreground. I don’t really like my gel pen all that much. My brush pen didn’t fill in the background very smoothly, but i don’t have a brush to use with my dip pen ink, so it was the best I could do. I didn’t like not being able to use pencil on this one. I did a digital test sketch that came out better, but I’m glad I tried a different technique at least.

Today’s Prompt: deep
