Ha, apparently I didn’t understand how mentions work on micro.blog when you use an externally hosted blog. Turns out, you have to link your mention to the person’s micro.blog address or things won’t work. That wasn’t very obvious, but the help docs cleared it up.

@manton I’m going to resubscribe, but apparently unsubscribing from Twitter cross posting doesn’t actually turn off cross posting. I just realized my micro.blog account had been posting on my behalf for the last several weeks and I missed a bunch of Twitter replies.

Now Twitter will email me when I get a reply – maybe that’s a happy medium. Micro.blog for posts, cross post to Twitter, but only login to Twitter to reply to a mention. We’ll see how that works.
